What was your go-to bag this weekend? If you’re answer is “um, the one with all my sh*t in it, duh,” me too. Let’s explore the idea of one that isn’t neutral.
We all have The Bag that hold All Our Stuff that we carry Every Day. Maybe you’re the minimalist: keys, phone, wallet, maybe a lip gloss. No time for nonsense – you have places to go! Or you’re like me and you have 90 percent of everything you own in a bag almost as big as a pillowcase. It’s amazing! Who knew a purse could hold not only your wallet, but juice, snacks, tampies, a blowdryer, and more snacks?! The Bag is essential, but maybe it’s time to lighten the load in favor of a bag that doesn’t bear the burden of your day to day life.
I haven’t been feeling clothes shopping and have geared my eyes more towards accessories. Blame it on the cold weather, the fact that I have been eating like a bear going into hibernation, or simply not wanting to take my pants off in a public space. The thought process as of late has gone something like “I don’t want to know what my butt looks like in this dress but I do want to see if I have a nail color that pairs with this clutch.” Jewelry, scarves, hats, and bags save us from pencil skirts, ill-fitting knit tube dresses and crop tops. They breathe new life into the clothes you already love. I say we rename these bad boys from accessories to sucessories.
